Keysight Technologies
In response to customer demand for replacements for the discontinued 4339B High Resistance Meter and accessories, Keysight recently released these new B2985A/87A accessories:
- N1424A/B/C Resistivity Cell
- N1425A/B Low Noise Test Leads and attachments (the N1426A/B/C)
- N1427A/B Low Noise Test Cables
- N1428A Component Test Fixture.
The B2985A Electrometer/High Resistance Meter is the world’s only graphical electrometer that allows you to confidently measures small currents with 0.01 fA (0.01 x 10-15 A) resolution and large resistances of up to 10 PΩ (10 x 1015 Ω). The B2985A/87A has advantages over the 4339B such as better graphical user interface, lower noise operation and faster measurement speed. These accessories enhance the B2985A/87A application coverage including material surface/volume resistivity measurements in film or sheet formats, component insulation tests, and more.
The B2985A/87A’s Advantages over the 4339A/B
- It is easy to use and analyze.
- Useful 4 View Modes:
- Enable users to check data easily
- Facilitate quick debug and analysis
- Useful 4 View Modes:

2. Lower Noise Operation
- Advanced design achieves low noise measurements!
- Equal/lower noise than 4339B
(200 pA to 200 nA Ranges) - Reveal data which 4339B cannot show
(2 pA to 20 pA Ranges)
- Equal/lower noise than 4339B
3. Faster Measurement Speed
- 2x faster evaluation time for high resistance material!!
- 4339B: Fixed (Short, Medium, Long)
- B2980A: Flexible (10 μs to 2 s)
Applications where the B2985A/87A is used to measure
- Material science (Biomaterials, ceramics, elastomers, films, dielectric materials, electrochemical, ferroelectric, graphene, metals, organic materials, nano-materials, polymers, semiconductors, etc.)
- Devices and electronic components (capacitors, resistors, diodes, sensors, transistors including TFT and CNT, optoelectronics, solar cells, etc.)
- Electronic/non-electronic systems (ion beam, electron beam, sensing systems, particle measurements, embedded precision instruments, etc.)
