Description
The Tektronix S54 Pulse Generator Head is a step generator designed for use with the 7S12 as a long line Time Domain Reflectometer unit. Intended for tdr applications, the unit is 50 ohms reverse terminated to minimize reflections and has a 0 V base line to eliminate base line shift with load charges. A continuously variable front-panel control enables adjustment of pretrigger lead time. The pretrigger output allows the unit to be operated in sequential sampling systems without a delay line. It has a 1 ns risetime and variable pretrigger pulse output. The pretrigger-to-main pulse jitter is specified to be 100 ps or less when the lead time is set to 120 ns.
