The 3312A is ideally suited to function as a “working” calibration instrument. One input may be designated as the reference channel, set to read temperature, and connected to an appropriate secondary or working standard sensor, while the other 11 channels are set to measure resistance and connected to sensors that are to be calibrated. Using the reference channel as the monitor channel, the measured temperature is displayed continuously while the resistance of the other 11 sensors are being measured. By placing the reference sensor and the sensors to be calibrated in a stable bath and measuring the resistance at known temperatures, an R vs T table can be calculated for the uncalibrated sensors. As a Stand Alone System The 3312A may be used as a stand alone data acquisition system. It can be programmed to store, at selected time intervals, in memory up to 200 sets of data including the maximum, minimum, and average data. This data can then be printed at a later time using a serial (RS- 232C) or parallel (Centronics) printer. The 3312A can also be separately programmed to print, at selected time intervals, data including the maximum, minimum, and average.
